Supramolecular Conjugated Block Copolymers
While the performance of polymer−polymer bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaics (OPVs) is poor compared with polymer−fullerene OPVs, reducing or eliminating micrometer-scale phase separation in all-polymer OPVs may dramatically improve performance. Herein, we demonstrate that 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidinone (UPy) quadruple hydrogen bonding interactions can be used to prevent micrometer-scale pha...

Polymer, heal thyself! Supramolecular ABA triblock copolymers formed by dimerization of 2-ureido-4-pyrimidinone (UPy) end-functionalized polystyrene-b-poly(n-butyl acrylate) (PS-b-PBA) AB diblock copolymers have been synthesized, resulting in a self-healing material that combines the advantageous mechanical properties of thermoplastic elastomers and the dynamic self-healing features of supramol...
متن کاملSupramolecular structures from rod-coil block copolymers.
One of the fascinating subjects in areas such as materials science, nanochemistry, and biomimetic chemistry is concerned with the creation of supramolecular architectures with well-defined shapes and functions. Self-assembly of molecules through noncovalent forces including hydrophobic and hydrophilic effects, electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, microphase segregation, and shape effec...
متن کاملThermodynamic Interactions in Organometallic Block Copolymers
The thermodynamic interactions in anionically synthesized poly(styrene-blockferrocenyldimethylsilane) (SF) copolymers were examined using birefringence, small angle X-ray and neutron scattering (SAXS and SANS). We show that birefringence detection of the order-disorder transition is possible in colored samples provided the wavelength of the incident beam is in the tail of the absorption spectru...
متن کاملSupramolecular copolymers with stimuli-responsive sequence control.
We report a novel responsive supramolecular copolymer able to change its monomer sequence as a result of molecular stimuli. Nucleic acids and RNAse are used as molecular inputs, controlling the clustering of specific monomers along the polymer backbone. This opens new ways towards the molecular control of synthetic supramolecular networks.
